The Enhancement of Quality at VAMK Will Culminate in an Audit Visit in March
Vaasa University of Applied Sciences will obtain valuable information on the strengths, good practices and enhancement areas in its activities. The audit team will interview the staff and students from various degree programmes, units as well as representatives of stakeholders. -
The Universities of applied sciences entrance examination will be organised as a one-step in-person test between 31 May and 9 June.
Universities of applied sciences (UAS) will select students for education starting next autumn in exceptional circumstances. Student admissions for the joint application process starting in March will be implemented through a certificate-based admission and an UAS entrance examination, which will be organised in exceptional circumstances due to the covid-19 pandemic. The exam will be arranged between 31 May and 9 June 2021 as a one-step in-person test in facilities designated by universities of applied sciences. The number of exam days has been increased to eight. -

Vaasa University of Applied Sciences will continue with distance learning mainly until March 7, 2021
The Vaasa Hospital District has entered the spreading phase of the epidemic on 20.12.2020. According to the recommendations, higher education institutions will continue in distance learning mode at this stage, arranging only compulsory contact teaching. -

Higher Education Institutes’ Digivision 2030 program has been launched
The Finnish higher education institutes have launched the Digivision 2030 program, which is a joint, agreement-based program for higher education institutes. The key objective of Digivision is to open up national learning data reserves for use by individuals and society, enabling the development of pedagogy and the renewal of higher education institutes. -

VAMK will continue mainly with distance learning until the end of the year
We will continue with distance learning mainly until the end of the semester. However, we will open campuses on November 2. and we'll carry out the necessary small group teaching on campus. On campus, we always wear masks. Staff work remotely where possible, in accordance with the national recommendation, but the campus is open for campus work. -
New course feedback system SPARK introduced on Monday 26 October
VAMK will adopt a new course feedback system SPARK, integrated into Peppi on Monday 26 October. At this stage, the final feedback of the course is taken into use, later we can also gather continuous feedback and interim feedback through the system. -
Feasible Wind Power Projects with a Proper Project Management
Technological development and appropriately chosen project management methods enable wind power project development to new regions, such as Ghana in the Western Africa, says Jukka Rönnlund who studied the topic in his master’s thesis (Project Management) at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. -

Vaasa University of Applied Sciences was involved in an international training in which public sector management skills were developed. As a result, a lot of new know-how and a well-being at work game were created. -

SAMOK & ARENE: UAS rectors and student unions appeal to students to stop the spread of coronavirus
Finland’s coronavirus situation is rapidly deteriorating, and there are also chains of infection among students at universities of applied sciences. This has led to an increase in distance learning and even to the closure of campuses in different parts of Finland. -

The campus is closed in weeks 41-42
Five students at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences have now been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. Exposures are still being investigated. Additional infections are likely to occur. Authorities are being in contact with those exposed and quarantining individuals when the situation so requires.
