The future

Robot Academy

Robot Academy embodies the VAMK values of enabling regional prosperity. Students can try out different methods of research, development and innovation. Co-operation is highly appreciated by companies in the area.

Valuable skills

As a learning environment, Robot Academy is all about networking and project management. These skills are valuable when starting a career.

– Students form small groups, in which they work on robot related projects. Companies usually have no problem coming up with good ideas for these projects, says Mika Billing, the instructor of Robot Academy.

The project can contain for example planning, developing or manufacturing new robot cells, tools, grippers or jigs.

Learning by doing

Robot Academy gives you tools to problem solving and using new technologies.

Learning by doing is one of the principles at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences.

Working on a project is mainly gathering information and trying it out in practice. Simulation programs play a key part in robot cell planning.

Real life solutions

After the project is ready, students write a briefing. The results are presented and shared for the co-operating companies at a mutual seminar.

Mika Billing has found the projects to be very meaningful both for the students, the teachers and the co-operators.

– At best we might even solve some real life problems for the co-operating companies.
