The campus is closed in weeks 41-42

Posted on 2020-10-04 17:30:29 EEST.

Five students at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences have now been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. Exposures are still being investigated. Additional infections are likely to occur. Authorities are being in contact with those exposed and quarantining individuals when the situation so requires.

Infections are related to previously reported clusters of infections that have occurred outside the campus.

The campus will be closed immediately. We are unable to secure even small group work because not all those exposed have yet been reached and new infected people are emerging. The decision has been made in collaboration with local health authorities. All work and teaching will be handled remotely in weeks 41-42. Canceled small group lessons are transferred or handled online where possible. Teaching takes place remotely according to the schedule. Contact your teacher for more information.

Avoid unnecessary contacts. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you have any mild symptoms. Wear a mask when moving outside the home. The university strives to provide assistance to quarantined students.

We will officially announce next time on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

Please wear a mask if you need to visit campus.
