So far, three students at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. Further infections may still occur. Authorities have mapped the exposed and quarantined them based on their assessments.

Infections are not born on campus. The majority of infections are related to the cluster of infections found in the nightclub Fontana.

Vaasa University of Applied Sciences will immediately move to distance learning and teleworking, excluding workshops and laboratory teaching. The campus has a strong mask recommendation and small group teaching uses masks provided by the college. Distance learning is carried out virtually according to the reading order.

The goal is to return to the hybrid teaching model in week 43 when the infection situation allows.

Students are well-off and get sick at home in quarantine. If necessary, assistance will be provided to them on behalf of both the authorities and the university.

Now there is no need to look for culprits, but to make sure we avoid further infections and can return to campus as soon as possible.
