High School Day bringing 1,700 guests to the Palosaari campus on Thursday 12 October

VAMK and The University of Vaasa and are hosting High School Day for the ninth time on 12 October 2017 at 9:30am – 3:00 pm. This year over 1,700 guests are expected at the information day aimed at the high school students of Western Finland.
 
The day is set up in trade show fashion offering the visitors information on the university's and VAMK's education programmes and advice on application. The main venue is the Square (Tori) hall of the Alere learning centre of social services and health care. Visitors will also receive information on student unions and their activities, Vaasa, living, recreation, and work life. In addition, sample lectures will be held in the premises of both universities. The information technology programme will be presented through guided tours in the Technobothnia education and research laboratory. The Tritonia Academic Library welcomes guests to take a self-guided tour.

Crowded hallways are expected, as during the day we will meet an abundance of future students. High school students will be arriving on campus at 9:30, 10:30 and 12:00. The campus day will begin with three joint welcoming events in the Levón auditorium. Buses will arrive and departure at Wolffintie, so extra caution is advised when moving in the area. Parking lots on campus are available as usual with the exception that on-street parking is reserved for the buses of the guests from the front of the VAMK building to Technobothnia at Puuvillakuja. High school students will have lunch in Mathilda, Serveri, and Alere.
