The results of the inquiry regarding customer satisfaction with the library at Vamk 2008

The universities of applied sciences' nation-wide inquiry about library customer satisfaction was made in spring 2008. According to the inquiry the customers are increasingly satisfied with the services provided by the library at Vamk.

The Vamk inquiry was answered by 277 persons of which 177 were customers at the library at Raastuvankatu and 100 were clients at the Wolffintie library. Of the respondents 84 % were students, 13 % teachers, 2 % other staff and 1 % external customers.

In comparison with the inquiry made in 2006 the library services have been successfully improved on the whole. The location of the library as well as the instruction in information acquisition received the most praise and the latter was considered to have improved the skills to find information. The customers were also happy with the staff's guidance and their ability to advise customers. Information about the service was also thought to be sufficient.

The largest areas of development were the sufficiency of the lendable material as well as the opening hours. The customers also wished for more e-material and easy instructions for how to use it. This was the third time the universities of applied sciences made this inquiry about customer satisfaction.

Previously the equivalent inquiry has been made in 2004 and 2006. A total of 11 618 answers was received this year.
