Towards responsible and resilient Industry: Industry 5.0 –
Industry, energy and well-being services in societal transformation.

The first AIMday in Finland, organized in 2025, received extensive positive feedback, and the event now returns with a new theme. This year’s theme is Towards responsible and resilient industry 5.0.

During the day, discussions will focus on industry, the energy sector, and well-being services in the midst of societal transformation. Current challenges will be addressed in dialogue sessions bringing together companies, experts, and students.

The event offers a unique opportunity to:

  • share expertise and perspectives across disciplines,
  • discover new solutions and ideas for developing industry and services, and
  • build networks and create collaboration opportunities with regional companies and experts.

AIMday (Academic Industry Meeting Day) is a collaboration concept originally developed at Uppsala University, based on practical and solution-oriented cooperation. Companies and organizations submit their questions and challenges in advance, and experts and students from VAMK explore solutions through small-group discussions. Each topic is addressed in a one-hour workshop, generating new ideas and connections.

When registering

Please note that the event features parallel sessions. This means that between 09:00–10:00 there are four different discussion groups, and between 10:20–11:20 there are another four discussion groups. You may register for one discussion group in each time slot. Additionally, when registering for the AIMday event, you can also register other participants from your organization or company.

The registration form will ask you to submit challenges. A challenge refers to an issue or topic within your chosen discussion theme for which you would like new perspectives, research insights, or practical solutions. This could relate to a development need, a problem, or a future event/opportunity where you seek expert input, peer support from other companies, or fresh perspectives from students. The more concrete your description, the better the discussion can be tailored to your needs. Please note that submitting at least one challenge is mandatory — your registration cannot be completed until at least one challenge has been provided. One challenge is sufficient, but you may submit multiple if you wish. Submitted challenges will be taken into account when finalizing the program and will be shared with facilitators to support the group discussions.

When writing your challenge, please also indicate clearly which discussion group you would like to join. We reserve the right to adjust the program based on the challenges we receive.
