VAMK has no own dormitories or any other kind of accommodation arrangements for its students.
Students are responsible for their own accommodation arrangements.
Student Housing with VOAS
The most common option is renting through VOAS (Student Housing Foundation in Vaasa), which was founded in 1972. VOAS offers affordable housing primarily for students, with lower rents than the private market. At the cheapest price, you can rent an apartment in Vaasa for around 300 euros; the prices of the units are around 400-500 euros.
- Shared apartments (2–4 students): Each student has a private room and shares the kitchen and bathroom.
- Unfurnished rooms include only: a fridge, an oven and a stove.
- Furnished rooms (for exchange students) include: a bed (without a pillow, blanket or thin mattress pad), a desk and chairs, a lamp and a desk lamp, a wardrobe, a bookshelf, a trash bin, a fridge, an oven and a stove.
Not included: kitchenware, bedding, pillows, or blankets. These can be brought from home, bought locally, or found at second-hand shops. A local provider, StudentSurvival, offers starter kits—see StudentSurvival website for details.
Note: Only one person per room is allowed in VOAS shared apartments.

For Exchange Students
- VOAS rental agreements are fixed for the full semester and cannot be terminated early.
- Apartment changes are only possible if staying for two semesters (change allowed for the second semester).

- Spring semester: January 1st to May 31st
Other Renting Possibilities
Kiinteistö Oy Pikipruukki is the largest landlord in Vaasa.
Pikipruukki offers cosy living for different stages of life. The company’s housing stock is in good condition and versatile. In renting apartments, the company follows the cost principle. The goal is not to generate a commercial profit.
Apartment rents consist of the interest and repayments of the loans taken out for the construction of the houses and the costs caused by the maintenance of the properties. The housing stock includes homes and apartments of various sizes, such as studios, two-room apartments, three-room apartments, and larger family apartments.
Apartments can be found in different areas, and many of them are also in Palosaari near the campus.
