Finnish language proficiency tests (A2 basic level) for language scholarship

Enrollment in Finnish language proficient tests (A2 basic level) for language scholarship takes place between 16-22 February 2026. The link for enrollment will be provided later.

The test consists of two parts:

  1.         Written test on Monday 16 March 2026 at 9.00–11.00 (2 hours).
  2.         Some of the oral tests take place already after the written exam at 12.00-15.30 on Monday. Depending on the number of candidates, tests continue on Tuesday  17 March 9–15.30.  The duration of the oral test is approx. 20 minutes per person.
  • Each enrolled student receives more information 1 week before the written exam (from the test organizer)
  • The test dates are fixed, and cannot be changed.
  • Test cannot be retaken.  If the test result is failed,  student must enroll in the next available test

Student is responsible for enrolling in the test during the enrolment period, and covering costs of the test (190 EUR).  The payments and the enrollments are made directly to the test organizer.

The tests will be arranged at the premises of Vaasa University of Applied Sciences Wolffintie 30.

Test takers must have a valid identification document (with photo) at the test venue. Other allowed equipment includes only a pen and a eraser.

Once receiving the (passed) test result, student can apply for scholarship on the basis of  A2 language proficiency through Webropol form.  The scholarships are processed on a monthly basis by VAMK Scholarship Committee.

Test takers receive certificate from test organizer by email as PDF-document.  The test will be assessed on a pass-fail basis.

Prerequisite for the test and scholarship:

  •           Student’s study right at VAMK has commenced on 1.8.2024 or later
  •           Student is liable to pay tuition fees. Students who are exempted from paying the fees, cannot apply for scholarships.
  •           When applying the scholarship, student must have enrolled present for the academic year and has paid tuition fee for the academic year in full.
  •           Student has never been subject to disciplinary measures at VAMK based on the VAMK Degree Regulations
