National Influence in the DDE Network

Vaasa University of Applied Sciences is now a member of Finland’s leading network of defence and technology companies and research institutes, the Digital Defence Ecosystem (DDE).

“DDE offers a natural platform for collaboration and networking, and VAMK is committed to active participation at the leadership level. All DDE themes are relevant to our work, especially technology and product development, strengthening industrial capacity, as well as market access and business development,” says RDI Director Marja-Riitta Vest.

VAMK’s strengths include versatile expertise in the energy sector such as hydrogen and battery technologies, robotics, additive manufacturing, and automation as well as the design of industrial products and services, international business and logistics, and security of supply and preparedness.

“Networks are essential for our organization and for companies in the region. We see ecosystem collaboration as a key driver of innovation. Through national and international cooperation, we support the growth and competitiveness of Finnish defence and security companies at both the European and global levels. Our close Nordic cooperation, especially in the Kvarken region with Sweden and Norway, further strengthens this role,” Vest says.
