Vaasa Campus Festival 9.9.2026

Welcome to Vaasa Campus Festival! Held at Vaasa Market Square on September 9, this major event welcomes both new and returning students to the city and to the academic community.

Vaasa Campus Festival is free of charge and open to everyone, and it will take place on Wednesday, September 9th. The event is organised in cooperation with the City of Vaasa, as well as all local universities; Vaasa University of Applied Sciences, University of Vaasa, Hanken, Novia, Åbo Akademi, and the University of Helsinki, and their student organisations. As the entire event area is a licensed alcohol service area, the age limit for entry is 18.

“Over the years, the Campus Festival has become a symbolic start to the entire autumn semester for higher education in Vaasa. We want to create a community atmosphere where students, regardless of their background or native language, can meet and have fun together”, explains Sami Korpela, Event Specialist at VAMOK, the student union of Vaasa University of Applied Sciences.

Top Finnish Stars and a Swedish Hit Machine to Take the Stage

This year’s lineup offers a diverse cross-section of Finnish and Nordic pop, rap, reggae, and electronic party music. Hosting the event and keeping the energy high between performances are Johannes Björkqvist and DJ Seben.

Early in the evening, the crowd will be warmed up by Jukka Poika, known for his laid-back reggae rhythms, followed by Sara Bee delivering her emotional pop energy. Next up, international flair arrives with the Swedish group LBSB, renowned for their extremely energetic stage show. This performance is part of their farewell tour, marking the band’s final appearance in Finland.

As night falls, Cledos, one of Finland’s most popular rap artists, will take the stage. The festival culminates with a performance by Teflon Brothers, whose well-known hit songs guarantee an energetic finale to the Academic Year’s opening celebration.

Diverse Side Activities and Event Overall Patches

Festivalgoers won’t have to rely on music alone. Various activity zones will be set up in the festival area, including a bouncy castle and a sumo wrestling arena. In addition, attendees can participate in activities organised by partner companies.

The gates to the festival area will open at the corner of the Lower Market Square (Alatori) at 4:00 PM.
