Seminar about green hydrogen value chain
A seminar linked to an international H2Excellence project coordinated by VAMK will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2025 from 12:30pm to 2pm.
Come and learn about the opportunities and challenges of green hydrogen in Finland. Keynote speeches will cover national initiatives, business development, and the latest advancements in hydrogen production and markets. Additionally, the event will explore efficient storage, transportation, distribution systems, and key regulations for green hydrogen.
In the panel discussion, leading industry experts and hydrogen stakeholders will share valuable insights on the topic.

GenAI in Data Centers seminar
The goal of the Wasa Zero Emission Data Center project, funded by the Academy of Finland and the EU, is to provide pathways to emission-free data centers. Led by the University of Vaasa, the project will establish the WSTAR data center laboratory at the Technobothnia research and development facility, aiming for zero emissions.
The seminar will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30, to discuss the challenges related to data center energy consumption and how data centers can be made as energy-efficient as possible by considering various energy consumption perspectives and heat recovery technologies.
Back to the Future roasting
In the Energy Academy roasting event, the future professionals—students—will challenge experts from Vaasa’s universities and companies with tough questions about a sustainable future.
Vaasa University of Applied Sciences will be represented by Director of the School of Technology Mira Grönvall. VAMK’s internationa business students Johanna Välimäki and Cathy Leonelle Leukoue Djoumbissie will be roasting the panelists, together with other university students.
The roasting event will be held on Thursday 20.3.2025 from 1pm to 3pm at Art Hall, behind the Vaasa City Hall.
Seminar and discussion about the Future Workforce
VAMK’s Ready for Talents project promotes the readiness of SMEs for international recruitment and leveraging diversity as a strength.
The Future Workforce seminar, organised in collaboration with VASEK and the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce, will explore trends shaping workplaces, present ways to foster an inclusive culture that drives innovation, and discuss strategies for leveraging diverse talent to achieve business goals.
The seminar will be held on Thursday March 20, 2025 from 11am to 12:30pm at Art Hall behind the Vaasa City Hall.
From Trash to Treasure pop in event
VAMK participates in Vaasa Climate Commitment project funded by the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia, together with City of Vaasa, VASEK and Vaasa University. The project aims to involve local businesses and educational institutions in achieving the carbon neutrality goal.
In this pop in event we will explore how companies can benefit from someone else’s side stream.
The pop in event will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2025 from 2:30pm to 4pm at Art Hall behind the Vaasa City Hall.
