Project description

In Kaikki mukaan! Urheilu osallisuutta edistämässä project, we are working closely with ten football clubs in the Ostrobothnia region. The project focuses on strengthening the inclusion, well-being and sense of belonging of children and young people through sport. During the project, the clubs will receive support to improve their equality practices and to take greater account of diversity, among other things. As the project progresses, the clubs will act as testers of the material collected and in the future all the material will be freely available for use by other actors.

There will also be cooperation with the Ostrobothnian Regional Council and the Finnish Football Association, where the regional development expert and the club development manager will be part of the project steering group. This project aims to increase inclusion, promote well-being and strengthen a sense of belonging among children and young people

Goals

The aim is to create equal opportunities for sporting activities, regardless of children and young people’s background or economic situation. The project aims to increase inclusion and community spirit, so that every young person feels part of the team. Clubs will be supported to develop their activities so that coaches and club officials have a better understanding of how to promote equality and inclusion. During the project, studies, training and events will be carried out to raise awareness of diversity and equal opportunities practices. The materials and recommendations developed will be freely available to all clubs at the end of the project.

The project aims to increase inclusion, promote well-being and strengthen a sense of belonging among children and young people. In cooperation with associations in the Ostrobothnia region, we aim to create better conditions for an inclusive and equal environment.

Results

As a result of the project, sports clubs will have a better understanding of inclusion and equality and will have concrete tools to promote inclusion. Clubs will be able to apply the material produced by the project in other sporting environments. Around 3000 children and young people will benefit directly from the project’s activities. The development of sporting activities will strengthen the sense of community and prevent exclusion, while supporting regional development and rural vitality.
