Project Description

NOVA is a development project that strengthens expertise and employment in the creative industries in the Ostrobothnia and South Ostrobothnia regions. The project offers training and workshops for professionals in textiles, clothing, fashion, and culture, promoting soft skills, entrepreneurial competences, and connections to working life. The project is run by VAMK and Sedu.

Objectives

The training aims to support career paths by improving competitiveness in the labor market. In addition to professionals in highly competitive sectors, the target group also includes people currently outside the labor force.

The project seeks to strengthen the skills of employees working or aiming to work in the textile, clothing, fashion, and cultural sectors (including media/graphic design). It supports competitiveness in existing positions, prepares participants for new opportunities in these fields, and promotes long-term career development.

Results

The project will produce an operating model for proactive outreach to target groups, as well as tools for skills assessment.

It will also create a tailored training offering for the target sectors, including innovative training paths ranging from short targeted courses to longer-term programs. In addition, new online courses will be developed for future use by industry players. A key novelty is the innovative collaboration between Sedu and VAMK, implemented in this form for the first time.
