Project descripton
The project aims to strengthen the expertise required as the electrification of heavy-duty transport progresses. Key areas of competence include the development of charging infrastructure, electricity grid load management, and the renewal of logistics and supply chains. Examining these interconnected themes supports the energy transition and the development of related skills and knowledge.
Through the training programme, participants will develop the capacity to analyse the technical and operational aspects of heavy-duty transport electrification and their connections to logistics and supply chains. The programme also explores the impact of electrification on route planning, depot solutions, and the development of transport chains. In this way, the training brings together the expertise needed for the transition towards electrified heavy-duty transport and its supporting infrastructure.
Goals
The key objectives of the project are:
- The primary objective is to strengthen the competencies required for the electrification of heavy-duty transport, the development of charging infrastructure, electricity grid load management, and the renewal of logistics and supply chains.
- The project aims to develop and implement a 10 ECTS credit study module that combines expertise in electrical and automation engineering with logistics, route planning, depot solutions, and transport chain development.
- The project seeks to support the energy transition by strengthening skills related to the electrification of heavy-duty transport, associated infrastructure, and changes in logistics operations.
- The project aims to deliver training content that can be evaluated and further developed in collaboration with employer partners. The evaluation will focus on labour market relevance, the practical applicability of assignments, and the benefits of the acquired competencies in workplace settings.
Results
The key outcome of the RELIT project will be a 10 ECTS credit study module designed to strengthen expertise in the electrification of heavy-duty transport, charging infrastructure, electricity grids, and the transformation of logistics and supply chains. The programme brings together competencies from electrical and automation engineering and logistics, thereby supporting skills development related to the energy transition.
The experiences and lessons learned throughout the project will be utilised in the continuous development of the training programme. Feedback collected from participants at the beginning, during, and at the end of the programme, together with evaluations from employer partners on the labour market relevance of the content, will be used to assess and further enhance the quality, applicability, and impact of the training.
