Project description
The DWELL project aims to promote students’ digital wellbeing, particularly among 12–15-year-olds, in European schools. By combining research, practical tools, and collaborative learning, the project helps schools create digital practices and learning environments that support students’ overall wellbeing.
The project provides teachers, parents, and stakeholders with tools to promote healthy digital behavior through five interconnected phases: research, framework development, capacity building, policy recommendations, and dissemination of results.
Goals
The objectives of the project are to:
-
Provide teachers with tools and materials that help support balanced use of digital technologies and strengthen students’ digital wellbeing.
-
Research and understand the challenges and best practices related to the use of digital technologies in European schools.
-
Develop a framework defining the skills teachers and parents need to support students’ digital wellbeing and provide guidance for responsible and effective use of digital technologies in education.
-
Test the framework in schools, collect feedback, and refine it for greater effectiveness.
Results
The project will produce four key outputs:
-
DWELL COMPETENCE FRAMEWORK (FRAME DWELL) – A framework defining the skills teachers and parents need to support students’ digital wellbeing in learning.
-
DWELL SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOL (ASSESS DWELL) – A self-assessment tool for teachers, providing scores and reports on how their current practices, tools, and methods support students’ digital wellbeing.
-
DWELL TEACHER COURSES (CERTIFY DWELL) – Short online courses for teachers to develop their skills in digital wellbeing, earn digital badges, and receive two levels of participation certificates (Level 1 DWELL and Level 2 DWELL AMBASSADOR).
-
DWELL PARENT COURSE (AWARE DWELL) – A short course for parents designed to strengthen their ability to support their children’s digital wellbeing and guide their use of digital technologies.
