Project Description
VET2Sustain is a European cooperation project that aims to enhance the attractiveness and quality of vocational education and training (VET) across Europe. It responds to the evolving needs of the labour market by developing innovative practices that strengthen students’ skills, employability, and capacity for lifelong learning. The project places particular emphasis on digitalisation, the green transition, inclusion, and internationalisation as key dimensions of future-oriented VET.
A central focus of the project is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) into vocational education. These technologies enable the creation of personalised learning paths, the development of immersive simulations, and the improvement of both the accessibility and the overall attractiveness of education.
Goals
The project aims to:
- increase the attractiveness of vocational education and training (VET) in Europe,
- strengthen cooperation between VET institutions and the world of work across European countries,
- promote employment, vocational skills, and qualifications in different national contexts,
- create a future-oriented European network with a shared vision, strategy, and action plan for long-term cooperation,
- organize events such as workshops and meetings that bring together students, employers, VET teachers, and other stakeholders,
- develop an online platform for VET practitioners.
Overall, VET must remain agile, adaptable, and responsive to the changing needs of the labour market. By focusing on digital skills, soft skills, lifelong learning, employer cooperation, and diversity and inclusion, VET can equip students with the competences required for the jobs of the fu
Results
The project will produce strategic recommendations on how artificial intelligence can support individual learning paths, alongside practical pilots testing the potential of XR learning environments across different fields. These initiatives will enhance the expertise of teachers and education providers, building their confidence in the pedagogical use of digital tools. The results will create more individualized and accessible learning opportunities for students, allowing them to practice skills in a safe and motivating environment that aligns with the demands of future working life. At the same time, the European cooperation network will be strengthened, laying the foundation for long-term development and reinforcing vocational education and training as a modern, digital, and sustainable educational pathway.
