VAMK 30 Years
Vaasa University of Applied Sciences will turn 30 on August 1, 2026. VAMK is full of energy and the 30-year journey will be celebrated throughout the year together with students, staff and stakeholders. The anniversary year will be visible on campus and in the cityscape of Vaasa through various events and activities.
Public Lecture Series in March
The free, open-to-all lecture series “Humanity, Technology and the Economy – How Do We Build the Welfare Society of the Future?” will be in cooperation with the adult education centre Alma on four Tuesdays in March. The series brings together history and future visions in an engaging and accessible way. The lectures will be held in Finnish.

March 3, 2026: Higher Education and Regional Vitality – From the Past to Future Expertise
The region’s strong industrial base created the foundation for the demand for expertise and led to the establishment of the first educational units, from which today’s Vaasa University of Applied Sciences has grown. The interaction between industry and education has, for decades, strengthened the region’s vitality, competitiveness, and sense of community. Now, the focus turns to the future: how will this collaboration continue to build well-being and sustainable growth?

Night of the Arts 13.8.2026
Residents of Vaasa will have the opportunity to explore VAMK’s activities, history, and future during the Night of the Arts on August 13. VAMK’s tent can be found from the park next to the church.
Campusfestival in September
Campus festival opens the academic year and is for everyone over 18. The event is a joint effort of all all universities in Vaasa.
