Welcome to the Vaasa Region and Ostrobothnia! In the Vaasa region, you won’t need to choose one or the other, as beautiful nature and urban city life can be easily combined on a single visit. Everything in the Vaasa region is close by, and moving from one sort of atmosphere and experience to another is effortless.
It is easy to travel to Vaasa regardless of where you are coming from. The airport is only 10 minutes from the city center of Vaasa, and the railway station is located in the city center.
By Train: 3.5-4 hours from Helsinki to Vaasa. There is also a commuter train connction from Helsinki airport to Helsinki. If you don’t want to go to the city center, you can stop already at Tikkurila railway station, change to long distance train and continue travelling to Vaasa. If you choose to change train in Tikkurila, use Train P. On the other hand, if you wish to visit Helsinki city center, you can use either train I or P.
