Vaasa Consortium of Higher Education

VAMK, together with other higher education institutions in Vaasa (University of Vaasa, Åbo Akademi University, Hanken School of Economics, Novia and the Faculty of Law of the University of Helsinki),  forms a consortium of higher education institutions, within the framework of which it is possible to include studies from other higher education institutions in the consortium in the degree through the cross-institutional study service.

Applying for studies in the cross-institutional study network

  • Enrolment for studies offered by the consortium is done through the cross-institutional study service,  on the student’s desktop (PAKKI).
  • Credits between the home and destination universities are automatically transferred when the credits at the destination higher education institution organising the studies have been assessed.
  • The decision on the acceptance of completed studies in the degree and the status of the studies in the degree is made by Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. If you want to substitute compulsory courses in your curriculum at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences with studies completed through cross-institutional studies, you must submit a separate credit transfer application for these. Further information on credit transfer: www.vamk.fi/en/student/guide/studying/ravpl

Right to study

  • The right to study at the host university is created when you have registered for the implementation and the teacher of the destination university has approved your registration for the implementation.
  • The higher education institution organising the studies will send information on student IDs, joining the course area and other practical arrangements.
